The bankruptcy code also permits the recovery of payments on old claims For insiders, the trustee can look back to payments made within a year of the bankruptcy filing. Insider preferences are payments to relatives and corporate officers, corporate directors or to related entities. For insider preferences the trustee can attempt to recovery payments of old debts made to insiders within a year of the bankruptcy filing.
